Addressing the large numbers of women with their newborn girls Chief Minister emphasized that women of the State should also equally contribute in the development of the Uttarakhand enthusiastically. Government wants promote women in every sector. We have good literacy rate and awareness level. We should make efforts to provide education, security and prosperity to our daughters. Chief Minister mentioned the some tribal communities of village Tirang of Jharkhand where daughter’s name is written on the house. Chief Minister said that daughters of the State achieved many great heights on national and international fronts recently. Chief Minister said that presently Government, Law and society would always support the women but they also need to more courageous and determined. We need to change the mindset about gender based discriminations in the society.
Insurance scheme for newborn girl child if Insurance companies agreed-CM Shri Trivendra
Chief Minister Trivendra said that State Government is pleasantly ready to start an insurance scheme for newborn girls if insurance companies agree with the idea. We will arrange fund for the purpose anyhow.
Applaudable efforts by District Pithoragarh for improving sex ratio-CM Shri Trivendra
Chief Minister Trivendra gave latest information that sex ratio of district Pithoragarh increased from 813 to 934 today. Chief Minister appreciated the efforts by District Administration and Woman and Child Development Department for improving the sex ratio in the district. He added that Government is specially focusing on 5 districts to improve the sex ratio.
Health Insurance Scheme for 27 lakhs families in the State soon-CM Shri Trivendra
Chief Minister Trivendra said that government is going to provide health insurance facility to 27 lakhs families soon so that best medical treatment at lower cost might be provided to the people. 900 nurses will be appointed in all the health centers of the State. 33 crores rupees will be provided for ASHA workers to ensure the better health services to newborns and mothers. 108 services will also be strengthened by providing adequate vans by Government.
Menstrual hygiene should be emphasized-CM
Chief Minister Trivendra said that only 18 percent of the women use sanitary napkins across the nation. 20 percent women die due to bone cancer on account of unhygienic conditions and using dirty cloths during menstruation. Chief Minister said that education and awareness might help to improve the conditions in this regard. Woman and Child Development Department soon going to provide sanitary napkins to women as a vending machine would be installed in Rudrapur.
