State Government encouraging plantation of advanced species of Walnut & Apple in hill areas: CM Rawat!

Indian Army’s Eco Task Force will be planting 50,000 Walnut trees in Pithoragarh. Along with this, advanced species of Walnut trees are being planted in Chamoli’s Gopeshwar and Joshimath. Advanced species of Himachal’s Apple plant are being planted in the hill areas of the state by the Eco Task Force. Colonel Ved Vrat Vaidya of the Army’s Eco Task Force met the Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat at CM residence on Friday.
Colonel Ved Vrat Vaidya told the Chief Minister that work of large scale plantation and environmental conservation is being done by 458 soldiers of Army’s Eco Task Force in Kumaon division and by 459 soldiers in Garhwal division. Along with this, special focus is being laid on river Rispana and other water sources rejuvenation and plantation works. Chief Minister said that the State Government is encouraging plantation of advanced species of Walnut, Apple and other fruit bearing trees in hill areas. This will increase the income of the locals and will also do environmental protection.
