Rispana and Bindal rivers to have River Front Development!

Sabarmati River Front Development Corporation (SRFDCL) to give technical support for Rispana and Bindal river front development
 MOU exchanged in the presence of Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat and SRFDCL Chairman Mr Keshav Verma
 Both rivers to  be rejuvenated on the lines of Sabarmati river
 In the presence of Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for river front development of Rispana and Bindal rivers on the lines of Sabarmati river for technical support from Sabarmati River Development Corporation Limited (SRFDCL), was signed by Executive Director of SRFDCL R.K. Mehta and Vice-chairman of MDDA Asish Shrivastava at Chief Minister’s residence on Wednesday.  Mr Keshav Verma, Chairman of the SRFDCL was also present on the occasion .  
Both these rivers will be developed on the lines of Sabarmati river. Besides developing the housing and no-housing areas, beautification, checking encroachments and marinating the flow of rivers will be done. The results of this long term mutli facetd project will start coming soon.  
Speaking on the occasion , Chief minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that efforts were on to work on the project for past sometimes but with technical support of SRFDCL, within two years, both these rivers will be rejuvenated and water flow will  be maintained throughout. He said that beautification of the river will add to the beauty of Dehradun and environment will also be protected. He said that he has great love for rivers and in the year 2009 he himself had conducted cleanliness drive for two months and many people were associated. The Chief Minister said that since then he had been planning to implement the project which has now been done. He announced that soon work on Song dam will also start as help from the central government has been sought and budgetary provisions have been made. The 148 tall dam will provide water to Dehradun through gravity and will be completed in one year.       Keshav Verma ,Chairman of SRFDCL praised the Uttarakhand government for initiative and said river front development will add to the beauty of these rivers as water will flow throughout and help the environment. He said that they will help the Uttarakhand in river front development as a team. He further said that entire project from river basin to the entire stretch of rivers will be prepared. Terming the river front project as multi-dimensional, he said that by spending rs. 1100 crore on Sabarmati river development  front, it is generating revenue worth rs 3500 crore. He said that they will try to  prepare a project of international level on 94 hectares land of these two rivers. He said that he has  team of experts and they are working in many states.  Asish Shrivastava, vice-chairman of MDDA said that it has been planned to start the project in 2019. The NBCC has been chosen as working agency while SRFDCL will provide technical support for which MOU has been signed. He also thanked the Chief Minister for the initiative.
