Most Film Friendly State Award 2017
The Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has conferred Special Mention Certificate for Film Friendly Environment to Uttarakhand under the “Most Film Friendly State Award 2017” on Thursday.
The jury of Producers/ Directors have given this award to Uttarakhand for trying to prepare a conducive environment for film shooting. The jury has praised the efforts of Uttarakhand that was a relatively new state with a difficult geographical terrain at national level. The applications are invited from all states every year for this award and following that the states are selected for the awards by the committee formed especially for the purpose. This year the president of the committee was renowned film maker Ramesh Sippy who announced the awards this year. The award will be conferred to the winners on 3rd May by President of India in Delhi.
The Chief Executive Officer of Uttarakhand Film Development Council Dr Pankaj Kumar Pandey expressed his happiness at the award being given to Uttarakhand. He said that under the able leadership of Chief Minister Uttarakhand Trivendra Rawat, the council works have picked up speed. Notably, the Chief Minister himself is the president of the Uttarakhand Film Development Council.
Dr Pandey said that all efforts have been made that the film makers get all the assistance through the medium of film Council. Dr Pandey said that the film shooting fee has been waived off in the state which has led to more producers and directors inclined to shoot in Uttarakhand. Dr. Pandey said that selection of Uttarakhand for this award is indeed moment of pride for all. The film Council was constituted in 2015 and in this short period Uttarakhand has been selected for this award leaving behind many states. He said that from 2015 more than 100 film makers have shot feature films, TV serials, documentaries, video albums etc in the beautiful locales of the state and Uttarakhand Film Development Council has provided shooting permissions under single window system in seven days.
Several big banners films have been shot in which Shivay a film by Ajay Devgan Prodcution, Rag Desh produced by Tiganshu Dhulia, Telgu film Brahmotsavam, Hindi Film Shubh Mangal Saavdhaan, Serio laird in Sony TV bade Bhaiiya Ki Dulhaniya, Piya Albela seriel aired in Zee tv, reality show Splitsvilla aried on MTV, Soap opera Bepanah, Marathi film “Furr”, Hindi film “Batti Gul meter Chalu” Hindi film “Student of the Year 2” Parmanu film by John Abraham, Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat and film in Uttrakhandi language “Gopi Bina. Bhuli E-Bhuli, Badri the cloud, Major Nirala etc figure prominently. Notably 16 states participated in the “The Most Friendly State Award competition organised by Ministry of information and Broadcasting this year.
