Forest & environmental clearance for Pithoragarh airport received

Forest and environmental clearance for Pithoragarh airport operations has been received. Preparation for providing tools and human resources is complete. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi can inaugurate the Dehradun-Pithoragarh flight on 07 October 2018. In this regard, Chief Secretary Mr. Utpal Kumar Singh held a meeting with the Airport Authority of India and DGCA officials.
In a meeting held at Secretariat on Wednesday, the Chief Secretary reviewed all the preparations. It was told that initially a 9 seater aircraft will run. Later, there is plan to run 20-seater aircraft. Deployment of Airport Manager, Flight Security Officer, Operation Manager has been done. Training of 75 security personnel has been completed. Apart from this, fire service personnel have also been trained. Also, Chief Secretary reviewed the expansion of Pantnagar Airport to create Green Field Airport.
Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Om Prakash, Director Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority Mr. R. Rajesh Kumar and other officers were present in the meeting.
