स्विट्जरर्लैंड में बेसल यूनिवर्सिटी की 1460 में स्थापना।
उत्तरी जर्मनी के विस्मार पर रुस और प्रशिया की सेनाओं ने 1716 में कब्जा किया।
जेकब रोजरविन ने 1722 में पूर्वी आयरलैंड की खोज की।
अमेरिकी कांग्रेस ने 1818 में राष्ट्रध्वज में ’13 लाल और सफ़ेद स्ट्रिप्स तथा 20 सितारे’ शामिल करने को मंजूरी दी।
ह्ययूज रोज के नेतृत्व में ब्रिटिश सेना के साथ युद्ध करने के बाद 1858 में झांसी की रानी लक्ष्मीबाई झांसी से निकलकर काल्पी पहुंची और बाद में ग्वालियर की ओर चली गई।

महाराष्ट्र के ठाणे में 2013 में अवैध रूप से निर्मित इमारत गिरने से तक़रीबन 80 लोग मारे गए।
छत्तीसगढ़ में 2013 में एक कुल्हाड़ी-हत्या कांड में नौ लोग मारे गए।

अमेरिकी संगीतकार एलमर बर्नस्टाइन का जन्म 1922 में हुआ।
भारत की मशहूर बॉलीवुड अभिनेत्री परवीन बॉबी का जन्म 1949 में गुजरात के जुनागढ़ में हुआ।
भारतीय अभिनेत्री एवं फैशन मॉडल लीसा रे का जन्म 1972 में हुआ।
अंग्रेजी फिल्मों के एक अभिनेता हीथ लैजर का जन्म 1979 में हुआ।

हिन्दी के सुप्रसिद्ध साहित्यकार सच्चिदानंद हीरानन्द वात्स्यायन “अज्ञेय” का 1987 में निधन।

भारत की प्रसिद्ध समाजसेवी, स्वतंत्रता सेनानी और शिक्षाविद हंसा मेहता का 1995 में निधन।
