Tree Plantation on 15 Aug 2021 as part of Amrit Mahotsav

Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the Glorious history of it’s people, culture and their achievements. A Mass Plantation Drive was undertaken on 15 August 2021 at Garhi and Lakwar in Dehradun, Thalisain in Pauri Chamoli, Lansdowne, Ranikhet and Roorkee districts by 127 Eco Task Force, Garhwal Rifles Regimental Centre, Kumaon Rifles Centre and Bengal Engineering Group under the aegis of Headquarters Uttarakhand Sub Area and planted 25000 saplings in Garhwal and Kumaon Region of Uttarakhand. Maj Gen Sanjeev Khatri, VSM, GOC, HQ UK Sub Area planted the first sapling and encouraged all to help save our rich environment. Serving Officers, soldiers and Ex-servicemen participated in the plantation drive enthusiastically.
