Now the entire population of the country will get the benefit of quota!
The government has decided to give 10 percent reservation to the poor people. In view of the conditions laid down in this regard, it can be said that in this way the benefits of reservation will be available to almost the entire population of the country. That’s because 27 percent of OBC and 21.5 percent reservation has already got the SC-ST population. After that, if reservation is done for the 10 percent poor people, then the condition of the reservation has been made, then the population will get almost the entire population. Depending on the terms, it can be interpreted in a dotted way.
The government has said that those earning less than Rs. 8 lakh will get the benefit of reservation. Income tax department and NSSO figures show that the annual income of nearly 95 percent of the households in the country is less than that. According to statistics, if a family of five members earns an annual income of eight lakh rupees, then this means that the average income of each of them will be slightly more than 13 thousand per month. While the NSSO’s 2011-12 figures show that the average monthly income of a person in rural areas is Rs 2,625 and the average monthly income of one person in the urban area is 6,015. That is, the people of both categories will be less than eight lakh under the purview of income. Thus, only 5 percent of households with income above Rs 8 lakh will not get the benefit of reservation.
