ऑटोमन सेना ने 1534 में उत्तर पश्चिमी फारस में ताबरिज पर कब्जा किया।
अलेक्सेई रोमानोव 1645 में अपने पिता माइकल की जगह रूस के शासक बने।
ब्रिटेन के विख्यात नाविक जेम्ज़ कुक की पृथ्वी के दक्षिणी गोलार्ध की ऐतिहासिक खोज-यात्रा तीन वर्ष के बाद 1771 को समाप्त हुई।
