Government committed to Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas-CM Rawat!

The state government is committed to do the development works at the ground level with the spirit of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.” With the experience and coordination of efficient officials and public representatives, the development works could be finished at a faster pace. These views were expressed by Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat at a meeting to review the developmental works held at State guest house meeting hall at Nainital on Monday evening. He said that officials should take public representatives particularly the legislators and MPs into confidence before launching developmental works since public representatives know the ground realities and want to get the developmental works as per the local needs.
Chief Minister said that there is no dearth of funds for developmental works in the state. He further said that even after the allocation of funds, the non-utilization of funds indicates that officials are not working with full readiness
Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat asked the officials that if there is a shortfall of small amount for any bigger projects, then they can get in touch with local legislators and can get help to complete the projects from MLAs fund. He said that it would not be appropriate in public interest to delay any mega project, road, power of water supply project for want of smaller amount of two to three lakh rupees.
He asked the officials of the irrigation department that they should get the irrigation canals and channels cleaned so that the farmers get irrigated water before the sowing season and water reaches the tail end of the canals and channels
Chief Minister said that as per the vision of the Prime Minister, the income of the farmers has to be doubled by 2020. For this, he asked that officials of agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, milk development and cooperatives work in coordination and as per the new work culture hold two way dialogue with the farmers
Chief Minister said that with the expansion of the Municipal Corporation and the Nagar Palika, many rural areas have come into their jurisdiction. Many new roads have been constructed in the rural areas and there is demand from the people that small vehicles, taxis etc. should be given permits for plying on these roads for the convenience of the rural people. During the review, it came to light that the construction of many roads of PWD is stalled because of the contractors. On this, Chief Minister directed the Executive Engineer PWD Ranjit Singh Rawat and CS Negi to identify the names of such contractors and show them doors and should assign the work to the new contractors, so that there is no delay in the construction of the roads.
Chief Minister said that keeping in mind the possibility of fog, frost and cold wave in wake of the winters, the district administration should ensure the provision of blanket arrangements at public places besides making arrangements for distributing blanket etc to the poor and the needy. “
In the meeting, Chief Minister said that the sale and use of polythene has been completely banned by the state government since July. Therefore, from time to time, a special campaign should be undertaken to confiscate polythene and the traders found using it should be punished under the relevant sections
In-charge of the district and Urban Development Minister Mr. Madan Kaushik told the officials that the government is releasing the budget from time to time and hence the authorities should make sure that they utilise the 100 per cent of the budget amount being received. He said that the District Magistrate should ensuer the laying of the foundation stone/inauguration of the public oriented plans and schemes, which are complete so that the schemes can be devoted to the public and their benefits can be availed by the people.
In the meeting, MLA Banshidhar Bhagat, MLA Dewan Singh Bisht, MLA Navin Dumka, MLA Sanjeev Arya, Mayor Dr. Joginder Pal Singh Rautela, Commissioner Kumaon Division Rajeev Rautela, SSP Janmejay Khanduri and Chief Development Officer Vineet Kumar were present.
