Construction of 21 Ghats in Uttarakhand to be complete by December 2018
Construction of 21 Ghats in Uttarakhand will be completed by Wapkos Limited by December 2018. Simultaneously, 15 small hydro projects are going on fast, which will be completed soon. DPR of flood protection works on Rispana and Bindal rivers is in the final phase. Officials of Wapkos Limited (Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Conservation Ministry, Government of India’s enterprise), met the Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat at CM residence on Friday and informed that DPR of the Multipurpose Power Project on the Indo-Nepal border – Pancheshwar dam in Uttarakhand has been prepared. Other works of Forest and Environmental Clearance are in progress. There is enthusiasm among the local people towards the project. Area residents believe that displacement will be fruitful. The benefit of the project will also be for gravity-based water supply in Udham Singh Nagar district, in addition to the power generation and irrigation of a large area. Chief Minister assured Wapkos Limited on behalf of Uttarakhand Government for all possible cooperation and assistance. In the meeting, Mr. Anupam Mishra of Wapkos Limited and other officials were present.
